In the Loop

Just because I like you all so much, I figured I ought to give you a glimpse into what's going on in my head in regards to Pioneer Peaks Relief Society's activities.

My MAIN Goal:

To hold four (4) major activities each year. These will be “general” enough that it should excite Relief Society Ladies of all ages and interests to participate, PLUS completely non-member and inactive "friendly".

Our first one will be the June 3rd "Fashion" SWAP. {See Blog posting after this one.}

My MINI Goal:

Hold a minimum of 3 “specific” activities to be held in-between the “major” ones. They will be based on feedback from YOU, the Relief Society women. As the date for a "mini" activity comes closer, I will put a couple of ideas up for a vote!

To keep things simple on the "minis", the focus will be on activities that fall within the following categories:
• Crafts
• Cooking
• Motherhood

Sometimes your choice will be the winner and other times it won't. We obviously can't have an activity that pleases everyone but I'm hoping with a simple vote, we can at least please most. Fingers crossed. It'll be a work in progress and if it seems like voting isn't working, then we'll go to Plan B. Let me know if any of you have a Plan B :)

Thanks Ladies! Hope to see you all at our first activity!!!!

Pioneer Peak RS Fashion SWAP!

WHEN: Thursday June 3, 2010 at 7pm-8:30pm (SWAP will officially begin at 7:30p but be there by 7p so we can display your goods!)

WHERE: At the Church (but hopefully outside!!!)

WHY: We all have things in our closet that we have grown tired of or simply do not use anymore. Chances are you will NEVER wear that shirt you insist on saving for that “special” occasion. Why not give those items the possibility of a new life and give yourself a chance to go on a little free “shopping” spree?

The Bribe: Yummy treats will be served

The Details:

What can I bring?

As long as it is in New, Almost New, or Good condition, you could bring: jeans, skirts, jackets, shirts, shoes, purses, bags, scarves, earrings, necklaces, bracelets, rings, sunglasses, baby clothes, maternity clothes or even nail polish.

Is there a limit to how many items I can bring? If I bring 10 items, do I go home with 10?

Nope. We are keeping this simple. If you like it, it’s yours. You may bring a lot and leave with a little or bring a little and leave with a lot. But please bring at least one (1) item. And don’t forget to bring your own “shopping” bag!

What if I bring something and no one takes it home?

This is the BEST part. All items that do not find a new home will be given to the women’s shelter where they will brighten up the wardrobe of another special woman.
